ZenPoint Solutions, LLC is seeking a UI/UX User Experience Designer to produce designs for several highly visible web applications within the State Department. We are looking for a candidate who can drive user engagement through well-crafted user experiences using industry standards. The UI/UX Designer will participate in brainstorming sessions, develop design concepts, bring best practices to the design process, and provide the resources and documentation needed to effectively bring design concepts to life. The UI/UX Designer will collaborate closely with Product Owners and the development team to lead the culture of design, create unique UI/UX designs, and translate policy and business requirements into good design. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be comfortable engaging with customers in both small and large group settings, be a positive addition to the team, raise the bar of all UX design projects, help the team continually improve our processes, and is a strong leader who’ll run a global design effort.

Clearance: Secret

Work Requirements: On-site 5 days a week with the flexibility in a changing work schedule based on customer’s needs

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for and apply UX/UI practices such as LeanUX, and user-centered design (UCD)
• Implement user-centered design (UCD) techniques to meet customer and end-user creative requirements and project-specific style guides.
• Develop understanding business and end-user requirements and create material such as workflows, storyboards, personas, low fidelity mock-ups, content hierarchies, user interface requirements, site maps, wireframe diagrams and prototypes.
• Supports updates, edits, and revisions to mockups and wireframes based upon feedback from end users, Product Owners, and the development team.
• Consult with clients to understand their goals and explaining research results
• Conduct user research to understand workflows, construct personas and assess usability
• Analyze usage metrics and feedback for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX enhancement
• Research interaction design and technology trends to provide specific UX direction and solutions to complex problems
• Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, style guides, and specifications
• Determine use cases and user interaction to design solutions to support business objectives
• Carry wireframes to delivery of final high-fidelity UI mockups

Required Qualifications

• Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance
• Four-year degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of UX design experience as a key, hands-on interaction/visual designer of product development cycle of successfully launched business web-based software applications
• Experience with working in cross-functional, Agile teams to design large-scale digital experiences that meet business objectives
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have problem solving skills with aptitude to support self-organizing multi-disciplinary teams with experience in persona development, data visualization, high-fidelity prototyping
• Understanding of U.S. Web Design Standards, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and experience creating and working with “design systems”
• Extensive understanding of best-practices in navigation, UI components and/or design guidelines
• Strong analytical aptitude, an ability to structure complex or undefined business problems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Balsqmiq, Front-End Frameworks, including Foundation or Bootstrap, Version Control, including GitHub or SVN, and content management systems, including WordPress or Drupal
• Experience creating and caring for usable content through content audits, reviews, and governance
• Experience creating rapid prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
