The Montante Solar team is experienced in solar installation and commercial real estate development, which enables us to offer a wide range of solar energy services including construction, solar panel installation, system maintenance, and project finance. About the Role:

Montante Solar delivers a portfolio of clean energy solutions that are optimized for their unique siting and budget requirements, while maximizing the benefits of a clean, reliable power source. As part of the Asset Management Team, the Solar Commissioning Specialist works closely with project management, engineering, and installation teams to ensure our projects power up and continue to operate and deliver as expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commissioning process for solar projects, including PV systems, inverters, and transformers.
  • Manage commissioning scopes across multiple projects to include electrical testing and troubleshooting, creating site-specific commissioning schedules, plans, testing documents and start-up procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop commissioning plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Review contracts, subcontracts and project drawings to ensure contracted deliverables are understood, met, and align with internal commissioning requisites.
  • Maintain commissioning logs and equipment checklists.
  • Perform field troubleshooting, diagnostics, and testing of existing portfolio of assets, along with necessary repairs to electrical and communication systems.
  • Configure and manage manufacturer provided software tools for interfacing with equipment.
  • Design, implement, and manage a proactive Asset Management Plan that addresses and includes performance monitoring, O & M, data analytics, risk management, regulatory compliance, and long-term ROI strategies.
  • Develop standardized reporting packages and performance scorecards for clients.
  • Track availability metrics and uptime for each asset under management, using software tools to optimize response time and performance.
  • Train and support property owners on rooftop arrays to ensure understanding of components, operation, maintenance, and potential issues.
  • Capacity testing, including conducting regular IV Curve Tracing to identify & troubleshoot problems, monitor performance, and ensure warranty alignment on products.
  • Execute, maintain, and enforce safety procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (electrical, industrial controls, construction, computer, etc.)
  • OR 3-5 years’ experience in a technical role within a related field (energy, utilities, construction, or other similar industrial role)
  • A combination of education and experience preferred
  • Experience with SCADA, industrial control systems, or TCP/IP network infrastructure preferred
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse teams and audiences.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation accurately.
  • Ability to travel to multiple job site locations in WNY and NY State
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

Pay range and compensation package:

Montante Solar offers a competitive total compensation package including:

  • Competitive base wages of $58,240.00 to $72,800.00 with bonus and prevailing rate work this role is anticipated to earn $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year paid hourly.
