This position involves providing expert clinical and therapeutic social work services in behavioral health to youth involved with the Department of Juvenile Services across Maryland. Position Details Grade: ASTD18 Locations: Multiple sites throughout Maryland, including Green Ridge Youth Center, Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center, Charles H. Responsibilities Provide clinical social work services, engage in rehabilitative counseling, and support youth with mental health or substance abuse issues. Must meet licensing and continuing education requirements, and complete training programs as mandated by the department. Minimum Qualifications Education: Must meet the licensing requirements for Social Workers as determined by the State Board of Social Work Examiners. Experience: At least three years in clinical, therapeutic, or forensic social work services. Substitutions include a Doctorate in social work or military service experience in relevant fields. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with adolescents with mental health or substance abuse issues is preferred. Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications Must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker-Clinical prior to appointment or pending receipt of license. Must possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license if duties require driving. Additional Requirements Mandatory continuing education credits. Completion of training in group counseling techniques and possibly the Level I Counseling course certified by the Maryland AIDS Professional Education Center.
