Low Voltage Technician (1099 Contractor)

Description:
T&J Communications LLC is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team as a 1099 contractor . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in low voltage cabling, access control systems, and security camera installations. We are looking for a dependable professional who takes pride in delivering quality work and maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism on every job site.

Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coax, fiber, etc.)
• Assist with installation and troubleshooting of access control devices, cameras, and sensors
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete installations
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in low voltage or related field (required)
• Experience with access control systems, cameras, and sensors (required)
• Lift certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Must provide own basic tools and safety gear
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Additional Information:

• This is a 1099 contractor position — technicians are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment.
• Certification reimbursement options may be available through T&J Communications.
