GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an entry-level position that provides assistance and support for the Systems Engineering Team, and as an extension, the Regional Sales Team. The Systems Engineer I provides engineering design and technical support on the commercial and municipal wastewater collection and/or treatment system projects ("Engineered Systems"). The Systems Engineer I will regularly interact with internal Orenco and Infiltrator employees, and at times with contractors/installers, designers/engineers, developers, our business partners (a.k.a. distributors, dealers, and suppliers), service providers/operators, and Regulators regarding these projects. The Systems Engineer I will prepare a wide range of project specific documentation including but not limited to, proposals, design review letters, and quotes. The Systems Engineer I will research, review, and process project specific orders for Orenco Systems products and services, develop custom commercial O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals, and will provide superior customer service in all internal and external interactions
This position is an on-site position. Must reside within a reasonable commute or be willing to relocate to the area.

> Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
> Regular, consistent, & predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
An AS (Associate in Science) engineering degree or equivalent is required. A BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in engineering is a plus.

This position is an on-site position. Must reside within a reasonable commute or be willing to relocate to the area.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment with occasional exposure to outside elements when traveling or conducting field work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primarily office environment. Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, climbing stairs and/or ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, driving, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs.
May also include occasional unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 70 lbs. Lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted.
Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. Requires the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations. Includes exposure to outside weather conditions when at customer sites. Conducting field work may include occasional exposure to wastewater, requiring proper use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves.
