**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down/Med Surg**

**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
**Location:** Asheville, NC
**Unit Information:**
- Number of Beds: 23 Step Down, 16 Med-Surg
- Staff Structure:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 11 RNs, 4 PCTs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 RNs, 4 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 (Step Down), 1:4-6 (Med-Surg)
- Equipment: Lifts, Chest Tubes, Cardiac Drips, Vented Patients, Trachs

**General Requirements:**
- **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required. Experience working with tracheostomy patients is essential.
- **Preferred Skills:** Familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred.

**Typical Procedures:**
- Trach Care
- Chest Tube Management
- Wound Dressing Changes

Seeking a flexible individual with a high level of clinical competence who can adapt to the dynamic environment of our nursing unit.

**Requirements:**
- **Certifications:** ACLS and BLS required.

**Floating Areas:**
Other Med-Surg and Progressive Care Units.

**Dress Code:**
Navy Blue Scrubs.

**Work Schedule:**
- Requires 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts within a 6-week period.

**Job Type:**
Contract position, Contractor Replacement. Guaranteed Hours: Contract Weeks: 91.
