Dockworker/Straight Truck Driver

Midwest Motor Express (MME), the Midwest operating region of AAA Cooper Transportation, is immediately hiring a Full-Time Dockworker/Straight Truck Driver to join the team at our Cedar Rapids, IA, Service Center. This role is a crucial part of the service center's daily operations. In this position, you'll directly contribute to the efficient flow of freight in and out of the service center while supporting our commitment to our valued customers. Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, straight truck and other freight-maneuvering equipment, perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, and report any maintenance needs.
• Efficiently load and unload freight from trailers, ensuring proper handling and securement for safe transit.
• Inspect freight for damage upon arrival and departure, accurately document any discrepancies, and report issues via the appropriate channels.
• Sort and organize freight according to destination, customer specifications, and service center procedures, directing it to the appropriate dock areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on the dock and in trailers, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and other service center personnel to coordinate freight logistics and ensure smooth operations.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• No prior warehouse experience required
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
• Ability to complete onboarding requirements
• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
