What you will do
As a Union HVAC Mechanic Apprentice at Johnson Controls, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and relevant building automation technologies in today’s market. How you will do it
Apprentices will be trained and will perform service on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
Apprentices will participate in certified trainings through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
What we look for
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience servicing light and heavy commercial HVAC equipment.
Must be willing to join, and be accepted by, the Local 155 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug test.
Passion and desire to learn and apply on the job.
Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital and written skills.
Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.
Prioritize safety in all forms.
EPA Universal Certification
This is a Bargaining Unit position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local 155 apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment at JCI. This is not a guaranty of employment or entering the Union.
