JOB DESCRIPTION

KUTV/KMYU/KJZZ Television: We are looking for a versatile Executive Producer/MMJ to work in our Sports and Sports Programming departments. Your talents will include being part of the award‑winning Sports Department which produces nightly sports shows, several team‑related sports shows and originates multiple live sports broadcasts. Our Talkin Sports format produces half‑hour sports shows every night following the 10 pm news, as well as an hour‑long edition of Talkin Sports each Sunday night. Companion stations KMYU and KJZZ broadcast live sporting events, and specialized programs in Utah and surrounding areas. Additionally, we deliver several “franchise” Talkin Sports programs including Talkin’ Utah Jazz, Talkin’ Real Salt Lake, Talkin’ Hockey, Talkin’ Golf and Talkin’ High School Football. We cover sports at all levels in Utah including the Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, Salt Lake Bees, University of Utah sports, BYU sports, Utah State and many more college programs. This is an opportunity to work for a station and a community where local sports matters on Broadcast television as well as digital/online content. Day‑to‑day tasks include multimedia content creation, scriptwriting, and maintaining a strong social media presence to engage with the audience. Responsibilities Responsibilities include sports producing, videography, shooting and editing sports stories and elements of the nightly show, digital content, podcast production, on‑air reporting or anchoring as well as other responsibilities as assigned. May require working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Skills and Experience On‑air experience including LOS, live in the field and reporting. Exceptional sports knowledge, including strong knowledge of the Utah sports scene. Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi‑platform distribution. Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape, including creating content for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms. Video editing skills. Expertise using social media platforms to curate and promote sports content including podcasting production and creation. Ability to write clear, concise, conversational and accurate copy. Skills in videography, ability to shoot highlights and live shots at a variety of sporting events. Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment. Ability to produce content efficiently and concisely under deadline pressure and to manage stress effectively. Maintain a valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive personal vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks.
