Here is what you need to know about the job: We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Designer to support the development of seasonal menswear collections. This role will focus on trend research, fabric development, technical design collaboration, and product execution. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of menswear design, fabrics, and market trends and can effectively manage design projects from concept to production.
Primary Responsibilities - Assist in creating and executing seasonal menswear collections, ensuring alignment with market trends and brand direction.
- Contribute to trend research, identifying key colors, silhouettes, and details for seasonal assortments.
- Support fabric innovation and development, considering creativity, function, and production feasibility.
- Stay updated on market trends and competitive analysis to introduce unique product details and enhance differentiation.
- Work closely with the design team to develop initial pattern concepts and manage approvals for handlooms, strike-offs, and lab dips.
- Generate comprehensive spec packages for each garment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical design standards.
- Participate in fittings to understand and communicate the intended fit, construction, and functionality of each design.
- Maintain awareness of industry competition, creative trends, and market shifts through research, trade publications, and cultural influences.
Skills & Requirements - 3-4 years of experience in menswear design or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of product development, fabrics, and garment construction with an eye for color and detail.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, textiles, and trims.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
Compensation/Benefits: - The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00, which can vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
